FocusBuds uses a supervised binary classification algorithm to classify the EEG data, predicting mental states in real time with high accuracy. The classifier is first pre-trained on existing data prior to fine-tuning on the user’s personal EEG data. These classifications are then aggregated and contribute towards behavioral feedback as well as providing augmented insights — significantly out-performing traditional techniques.
